These photos show the process of
printing "Looking Back". The image below depicts all the blocks with
masks that I print together to make the image.
What is a Woodcut? An image is selected based on a pastel drawing,
and each color is individually drawn, transferred
onto a wood block, and then cut with a knife and gouges.
After
cutting, the blocks are printed onto Shikoko Paper with rubber based inks.
Some blocks contain more than one color.
Images are based on Vermont Landscape and combinations
of images from my Travels.
